The Galleri cancer test is designed to detect over 50 types of cancer, including common cancers such as breast, lung, colorectal, and prostate cancer, as well as less common cancers that may not have routine screening tests available. The Galleri test works by analyzing circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) in the blood, which can contain unique patterns associated with different types of cancer. By identifying these cancer signals in the blood at early stages, the Galleri test aims to detect cancer before symptoms develop, when treatment options may be more effective, and outcomes may be improved.
